In case you missed it, I announced a new vintage clothing project I’ve been developing that I’m calling Searcher Vintage last month:
I’m happy to announce that my first event is happening tomorrow (Saturday January 20th) at Smash Salvage (965 King St E) in Hamilton, Ontario.
We’ll have warm drinks, snacks and music, it should be a wonderful day. Paul from Smash Salvage will also be selling the amazing antiques that only he can find. And if you can’t make it, you can get into the vibes by checking out the playlist I made, which is over 15 hours long and way more intricate than it needed to be. I wanted to tap into a sense of Americana but also hew towards a certain Englishness, as well as fashionable songs by well-dressed artists.
It’s been such a joy to source these clothes. I’ve been all over Ontario, digging around in the most unlikely places. One of my favourite things to do is learn something new and I’ve been absorbing so much information about brands, fabrics and tags. It’s been cool to build a closer relationship to clothing. Hope to see some folks from the newsletter out there!
You can find me updating my playlists or hanging on Twitter and Instagram. You can listen to my music on Spotify, Apple Music and Bandcamp and you can get Cadence Weapon merchandise here. Read my monthly column in Hazlitt. Pick up your copy of Bedroom Rapper here and please rate it on Goodreads.
Thank you for the playlist! The Guess Who have so many underrated slaps.
